Dr. Allen Burch named Scott & Wallace Principal of the Month for October 2018

Principal Of the Month

Dr. Allen Burch was awarded the Scott & Wallace Principal of the Month for October 2018 for her leadership at Lincoln High School. The award seeks to recognize principals in Leon County who lead through action with an emphasis on Leon County Schools’ five tiers: student safety, appearance of school, teacher/faculty morale, student achievement, financial responsibility.

Dr. Burch was announced the winner of the award by Superintendent Rocky Hanna at an awards ceremony on October 3, 2018. He received a $100 VISA Gift Card, as well as a month-long congratulatory display on all of Scott & Wallace’s digital billboards, among other gifts. Dr. Burch has been the principal at Lincoln High School since 2009. He has a Master’s degeree in Secondary Education and a Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Florida. His Doctorate is in Educational Leadership from Florida State University.

While in college, he married his best friend, Dr. Heather Burch. He and Heather have two children, Emma and Zachary. Dr. Burch enjoys fishing and hunting and spending time with his family. He believes that working with teenagers is his life’s purpose and that great teachers make the difference in all classrooms. Dr. Burch feels stongly about giving to the community in which you live. Modeling this belief,  he and his wife participate with and contribute to multiple local organizations while leading his students and staff to get involved as well.
