Scott & Wallace Personal Injury Lawyers is proud to recognize Melissa Wolfgang, a fourth-grade teacher at Florida State University Schools (FSUS), as its Winning Classroom of the Month recipient for August 2026.
FSUS, also known as Florida High, is a research school affiliated with Florida State University in Tallahassee. Wolfgang was nominated for the award by FSUS K–8 Principal Suzanne Wilkinson, who described her as an extraordinary educator whose dedication influences not only her students, but also her colleagues, future teachers and the entire school community.
“Melissa Wolfgang is one of the finest teachers I have had the privilege to hire,” Wilkinson shared in her nomination. “She builds genuine connections with her students, sets high expectations, and inspires them to rise to those expectations every day. Her fourth-grade classroom is a place where students feel supported, challenged and excited to learn—and as a result, they thrive.”
Wilkinson emphasized that Wolfgang’s commitment to FSUS extends far beyond her classroom. As both an educator and the parent of Florida High Seminoles, Wolfgang has a deeply personal connection to the school and treats the community as her own. She also partners with Florida State University to host preservice teachers, mentoring and coaching future educators with the same care and intentionality she provides to her students.
“Melissa’s teaching reflects what instruction should look like each and every day,” Wilkinson continued. “She is consistently positive, calm, and unflappable, bringing energy and purpose to her work. Like the Energizer Bunny, she never quits—and because of that, her students don’t either. She models perseverance, joy, and dedication, creating a classroom culture where effort is celebrated, and success is attainable for all learners.”
Her colleagues are equally impressed by her instructional craftsmanship and her ability to develop meaningful, hands-on learning experiences. Wolfgang sets clear and targeted learning goals while creating an environment in which every student has an opportunity to grow and succeed.
“Most importantly, Melissa is the kind of teacher every parent hopes their child will have—caring, dedicated, and deeply committed to each student’s success,” Wilkinson said. “Her students are truly blessed to learn from her each day. Melissa Wolfgang is exceptionally deserving of Winning Classroom of the Month and is, without question, a teacher worthy of Teacher of the Universe.”
Robert Scott, partner at Scott & Wallace, said Wolfgang represents everything the Winning Classroom of the Month program was created to celebrate.
“Mrs. Wolfgang’s impact is evident in the way she challenges her students while making sure each one feels supported, valued, and capable of succeeding,” Scott said. “We are honored to recognize an educator who gives so much to her students, her colleagues and the next generation of teachers. Her commitment to excellence is making a meaningful difference throughout the FSUS community.”
Clint Wallace, partner at Scott & Wallace, praised Wolfgang for creating a classroom culture rooted in perseverance, encouragement, and a genuine love of learning.
“Exceptional teachers help students believe in themselves, and it is clear that Mrs. Wolfgang does that every single day,” Wallace said. “Her energy, consistency and dedication inspire her students to keep working, even when something is difficult. We are incredibly grateful for educators like her who are helping shape a stronger future for our community.”
Wolfgang said the recognition is especially meaningful because it reflects the students and school community she is so proud to serve.
“I am incredibly honored to be named the Winning Classroom of the Month,” Wolfgang said. “Teaching is truly a team effort, and I am fortunate to be surrounded by wonderful students, supportive families, and colleagues who inspire me every day. My greatest reward is seeing my students grow in confidence, persevere through challenges, and discover the joy that comes from learning. I am so grateful to Scott & Wallace for celebrating teachers and investing in our classrooms.”
As the August 2026 Winning Classroom of the Month recipient, Wolfgang and her classroom will receive an iPad, $150 to support classroom needs, and a $100 Hayward House gift card. She will also be celebrated on a dedicated billboard in the Tallahassee community.
Through its Winning Classroom of the Month program, Scott & Wallace honors outstanding local teachers who go above and beyond to educate, encourage, and inspire their students. The firm is proud to recognize Wolfgang’s exceptional contributions to FSUS and the lasting influence she continues to have both inside and outside her classroom.
