On Wednesday, September 7 Sarah Hembree, Elizabeth Cobb Middle School Principal, was announced as the September Leon County Schools Principal of the Month by Leon County Schools Superintendent, Rocky Hanna, during the monthly Principals Meeting at The Howell Center.
“It’s our number one priority to make sure our students feel safe both emotionally and physically. I am thankful for this recognition and the opportunity to share all the GREAT happening at Cobb Middle School,” said Principal Hembree.
The announcement comes after Superintendent Hanna acknowledged Principal Hembree for placing inclusivity at the height of her focus and creating an environment where all students feel safe and respected.
“It’s my honor to announce the first 2022-23 Principal of the Month, Sarah Hembree of Cobb Middle School. A true leader and advocate for her students, I am constantly impressed with the work she puts in,” said Superintendent Hanna.
With 31 principals honored to date through the Scott & Wallace sponsorship, Leon County Schools Superintendent Hanna selects a monthly winner based on numerous criteria, including leadership, resiliency, morale, school beautification, and more.
“Our Leon County Principals spend so much time building others up, the Principal of the Month Award came about as our opportunity at the district level, to build the Principals up and recognize achievements, because there are many,” said Superintendent Hanna.
