New Kicks for the New Year: Scott & Wallace Donates $2,500 in New Shoes to Springwood Elementary

As students head into a new year filled with learning, growth, and opportunity, sometimes the smallest things can make the biggest difference—like a brand-new pair of shoes.

This January, Scott & Wallace proudly donated $2,500 worth of brand-new athletic shoes to students at Springwood Elementary School, helping ensure that children who may not otherwise be able to afford new shoes can start the year with confidence and pride.

The initiative, aptly named New Kicks for the New Year, focuses on supporting students in practical, meaningful ways—meeting real needs while uplifting spirits.

“We believe every child deserves to start the year feeling confident and supported,” said Robert Scott, Partner at Scott & Wallace. “Something as simple as a new pair of shoes can have a powerful impact on how a student feels walking into school each day.”

For many children, new shoes aren’t just about comfort—they’re about dignity, confidence, and being able to focus on what matters most: learning.

“This was never about recognition,” added Clint Wallace, Partner at Scott & Wallace. “It’s about showing up for our community and investing in the future. When kids feel good about themselves, it shows in the classroom and beyond.”

Springwood Elementary School leadership expressed heartfelt gratitude for the donation and the positive impact it will have on students and families.

“We are incredibly thankful to Scott & Wallace for their generosity and thoughtfulness,” said Sylvia Lynn, Principal of Springwood Elementary School. “These shoes mean more than just footwear—they represent care, encouragement, and community support for our students.”

The initiative also reflects a broader commitment to supporting local schools across Leon County.

“When community partners step up to support our students in meaningful ways, everyone benefits,” said Rocky Hanna, Superintendent of Leon County Schools. “We appreciate Scott & Wallace for investing directly in our children and helping them start the year on strong footing.”

At Scott & Wallace, giving back is not a one-time effort—it’s an ongoing commitment to the community they serve every day. Through initiatives like New Kicks for the New Year, the firm continues to focus on making a difference where it matters most.
