A local legend is retiring this month! With 41 years of serving Leon County Schools, Dr. Alan Cox of Tallahassee is being recognized for his dedication to education by being named the May Principal of the Month.
Leon County Schools Superintendent Hanna selects a monthly winner based on numerous criteria, including leadership, resiliency, morale, school beautification, and more. While not a current principal, Dr. Cox exemplifies all of these traits and beyond and we could not have been more honored to present this well-deserved award for his many years of commitment and diligence.
We had the opportunity to speak with Dr. Cox after the announcement and had to share his parting advice for students.
“Make sure you surround yourself with good people. Set goals for yourself. Put yourself in a position to grow in all aspects of life, not just academically, but spiritually, mentally, and physically.”
Dr. Cox is a well-loved and much-appreciated member of the community and will be greatly missed by students and staff. Please join us in congratulating Dr. Cox on a successful career serving the future of our community, and from our team at Scott & Wallace, thank you!
