Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Coverage

The Verdict is brought to you by the Tallahassee personal injury law firm of Scott and Wallace. Hi I’m Robert Scott and this is Clint Wallace, we’re personal injury lawyers with Scott and Wallace, here to answer a viewer question. Clint, Sean from Tallahassee asked, “I was injured in a car accident but I don’t have any health insurance. What can I do?”

Personal INjury Protection PIP Coverage… Sean, this is a question we get from many of our car accident clients. Many Floridians aren’t aware of personal injury protection commonly called PIP coverage. PIP pays for 80% of the first 10000 dollars of your medical bills if you’re involved in a car accident. Even if you don’t have car insurance you might be entitled to PIP benefits. For instance, if you do not own a car, you may be entitled to use the at-fault driver’s PIP benefit. Likewise, if you’re a pedestrian or bicyclist that’s hit by a car you may be entitled to use the driver’s PIP benefits. As always, if you’ve been injured in a car accident give us a call at (850) 222-7777 and Robert and I will discuss your options.

Sean, that’s your verdict
